ACTIVITIES

There are many activities to do in the Wilmington and it's surrounding areas. If you can't think of anything to do, here's some that we find exciting.

Sailing - Wilmington's beaches offer a nice sailing experience. With a nice ocean breeze coming in and less-than-dangerous swells, you'll be falling for sailing in no time.

Fishing - With Kure Beach, Carolina Beach, and Wrightsville Beach piers only miles away from anywhere in Wilmington, fishing is easy accessed. And if you don't feel up to the piers, there are plenty of public accesses on the beach and at Wilmington Parks where you can sit back, relax, and wait for the fish to bite.

Historic Downtown Wilmington Tours - There are many ways to take a tour in Downtown Wilmington. You can take a ride in Horse and Carriage from Market Street or ride on a trolley and see the historic sites. If you feel like a scare, there's the haunted pub crawl, a ghost walk delving from the pirates and local lore, segway tours on N. Water Street, and lots more.

Film Locations Tours - ScreenGems, our local film giant, was once the second top filming location in the United States. We lay claim to Matlock, Dawson's Creek, One Tree Hill, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I/II, Elmo in Grouchland, Firestarter and many more. CNN says " In the last three decades, more than 400 feature films, documentaries and television series have been shot and edited around town, drawing notable actors from Andy Griffith to Richard Gere."

HardRock Park - The newly opened theme park in Myrtle Beach is an adrenaline pumping getaway. At HardRock Park, there are rides honoring all the great rock legends. We'll readily give you a ride down for the day to enjoy the many excitements of the new HardRock Park, and while you're there, you can experience Myrtle Beach, SC as well.

Beaches - Wilmington has 4 fantastic beaches to choose from to just sit and chill, fish, surf, bodyboard or whatever you fancy. Wrightsville Beach is on the northern side of town and offers nice crisp waters and has close proximity to Mayfaire Town Center, a shopping center that includes a movie theater.

Carolina Beach offers great beaches and contains a nice beach community. If you have a four wheel drive, Carolina Beach's North End allows you to drive out and stay in the comfort of your car.

Kure Beach is the only beach in Wilmington that offers free parking. It is also conviently located by Kure Beach Pier that has everything you'll need, from fishing poles to an arcade to a pier. Whatever beach you choose, you'll enjoy every moment you have here.
